Temporary tattoos
Explore the differences between temporary Jagua-tattoos and henna. Check the full blog here.
Imagine this: You've got a magic potion made from the mysterious jagua fruit. When this elixir meets your skin, it creates temporary masterpieces. The ink oozes like liquid midnight, painting intricate patterns and magical designs that tell stories without a single word.
Unveiling The Process

A patch test is a simple and recommended, not must precautionary measure before getting a Jagua tattoo, especially if you have sensitive skin or a history of allergies. It helps determine whether you might react adversely to the jagua ink. One of our artists will apply a small dot of the ink in an inconspicuous area of your arm. We recommend waiting a minimum of 24-48 hours after your patch test before getting your tattoo.
*Pop in for a patch test.
If you choose not to undergo a patch test, please fill out the consent form here to proceed with scheduling your appointment for Jagua.

We recommend that you prepare your skin by cleaning, *shaving, and exfoliating the area you wish to get your tattoo on before coming to the salon. Please avoid applying sunscreen or any creams to the area. This helps to ensure that the jagua ink adheres well and stains evenly.
*Please shave a day prior to your temporary tattoo appointment to avoid any skin irritation.

The design for the jagua tattoo is either drawn freehand by one of our artists or transferred onto the skin using transfer paper depending on your choice of design. Our artists may use skin-safe markers to outline a design, allowing for precise application.

What to expect:
The artist will ink over the outline of the stencil, or freehand your design with the jagua ink. Stencils are generally created for custom designs or very detailed work.
After application, it must be left to dry, typically for around 60 mins.
Once dry, the design is peeled off and excess ink on the skin's surface is carefully wiped away with a paper towel. This prevents smudging and ensures a clean, sharp design.
Jagua ink doesn't immediately produce a dark stain so don’t be alarmed if it looks faded.
The colour will develop over the next 12-48 hours as the jagua oxidizes upon contact with the air.
The design will darken into a full blue-black colour.
After the first warm shower, the design generally darkens quicker.

Proper aftercare is crucial to maintain the quality and duration of the jagua tattoo. Avoid exposure to sunlight, excessive moisture, and rubbing the area during the initial 24 hours.
Jagua tattoos generally last around two to three weeks, depending on various factors like skin type and care. Over time, the stain will naturally fade as the top layer of skin exfoliates.
